What you bring

• 3+ years of experience as a software developer, including at least 1 year of Java programming
• Solid understanding of REST API design with Java Spring Boot
• Experience developing with message queues (Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, etc.)
• Experience with caching systems and strategies, such as Redis
• Good problem-solving skills and a strong team spirit
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Experience with, and a strong belief in, agile practices such as unit testing and DevOps, and cloud-based development principles such as the 12-Factor App

Nice to have

• Good English fluency and communication skills
• A product-driven mindset and eagerness to learn and apply new technologies
• Understanding of software patterns, microservices/service-oriented architecture, cloud-based software design and DevOps-style systems integration
• Understanding of security concerns, secure development and API/app security
• Knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot, Jersey and jOOQ is a big plus
• Knowledge of Java 8+ features such as streams, lambdas and reactive programming
• Knowledge of scripting, the command line and basic OS administration
• A strong desire to learn modern continuous build techniques and automated deployment systems
• Experience with streaming solutions using tools such as Apache Storm
• Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• Experience with Docker, container orchestration and service mesh
